Have you ever heard of Lake Wallenpaupak?
It’s a 13 mile lake located just north west of the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area in Northeastern Pennsylvania and despite growing up in Wilkes Barre, I’ve never been to this particular area of the Poconos.
Did I mention my husband’s parents have a cabin there too?
I’m not sure why we’ve never went. Just too busy with college, then jobs, then buying our own home, then babies, then, well, you know how it goes. Time gets away from you. Hence my whole making a travel a priority thing. Anyway, I’m not going to there. I’m just popping in to share a few of our Labor Day at the Lake photos. Overall the weekend was laid back, we just went a chilled at the lake.
If you can’t tell from the photos, we had a blast! What I didn’t capture was the nightly campfires and s’more makings plus an awesome BBQ dinner at Kundla’s.
This was our first visit to Lake Wallenpaupack but it won’t be our last. With views like this…
I’m looking forward to going back.

September 4, 2012Roni, I have been there. Great place and I also lived in Wilkes-Barre for many years. I did not know you grew up there. I have not lived there for 10 years but I have family who lives there. My hubby was born and raised in Pittston and West Pittson!! He has spoke of Kundlas many times!! Looks like a wonderful vacation.
