Have you ever seen that show on the travel channel with Samantha Brown?
Weekend getaways?
Everytime I watched that ,I have always said to myself; “I want to do that someday……just go somewhere for the weekend!” (I secretly just want her job.)
I want to go to an airport and just say; “what is your next flight?” …….and go. I think that would be so awesome. So when Roni had the idea of going to Portland for the weekend I was so stoked!!! I would have never thought of PORTLAND for a weekend getaway…but I am game.
Portland….Oregon?
The only thing I know is that we are staying at The Nines hotel. The website looks awesome and it is totally my style, trendy and BLUE!!!!!!!! (very Tiffany’s)
That is about all I know.
Honestly, I am not going to do any more research because I want to be surprised. I want to just walk and find a local restaurant, meet and talk to people at a local bar, and enjoy my time with my best friend.
We will be there in two weeks…………I will let you know how it goes.

September 3, 2012I seriously love this! We actually do a lot of weekend trips because of my work schedule. I have every other Thurs, Fri and Sat off. Next weekend my husband, son and I are heading to Lake Placid. I am running a half marathon. I actually use races as an excuse to travel to new places. In a month we are going to the Bahamas for a long weekend; no race just lots of lounging, swimming and floating down the lazy river at our resort. I actually enjoy the shorter trips. Packing is a cinch. We can splurge on nicer hotels because we aren't staying as long. It's just enough time to rejuvenate yourself, feel like you got away from it all, but not be gone so long that you feel like you need a vacation to recuperate from the vacation. Have a fabulous time ladies! I have been to Portland, OR once a long time ago and loved it. I'm sure you will too. Can't wait to hear all about it.
