Darn.
Ryan (Roni’s son) recently had a birthday and I just stumbled upon a great gift I could have given him: The gift of travel … sort of.
I’ve always been the aunt who wants to give something different. I cannot stand toys! Kids have enough. My husband always tells me I am a horrible gift giver because my gift usually involve some sort of learning.
What can I say? I’m a teacher. I always think about learning.
Anyway, I found this great website called Little Passports. Here is how it works:
“Sign up for one or both of the subscriptions and follow Sam and Sofia on their exciting adventures around the USA and the world. Inspire a love and understanding of the world as your child learns about a geography, history, culture, and language in a fun and memorable way. We offer two subscription packages:”
- World Edition: Join Sam and Sofia as they travel to a new country every month
- USA Edition: Travel with Sam and Sofia as they visit two new states every month
Each month the kit is delivered to your door with a large map and some online activities for whatever package you choose.
So simple. Why didn’t I think of this? Kids will love it!
Next time my niece or nephews have a birthday, guess what they’re getting?

June 21, 2013Oooh, that sounds like so much fun! Since Roni and Ryan love to cook, maybe they could add a trip to the library or even look online for some recipes from the different countries/states.
