I have spent the past few days in Ocean City, Md., with a few of my best teacher friends!  We have eaten our way through town and had a great time!

And dining out, of course!

Everyone had to go home on Monday but I was staying until Wednesday, by myself and I had the best time!

I thought I’d be lonely with no one around but I was fine.

I spent both mornings on the back deck of my friend’s beach house with a cup of coffee and SILENCE.

I just sat watching the water and people on their kayaks.  I cannot tell you what I was thinking because I really wasn’t thinking.  I was truly in a moment of relaxation.  Normally, at home I’d have laundry to do, school work, or running the kids around. Not here. Here I had nothing to do.

After breakfast and coffee I watched Shark Week on Discovery.

Then it happened.  It started pouring! I knew this was going to happen so I planned on going to the movies. This was a huge step for me. I have never gone to a movie alone.

I tried to talk myself out of it several times but finally got into the car.

I liked it.  I sat where I wanted and watched a movie I wanted.  I had a great time.

After the movie, I went to the boardwalk for a nice walk.  I just wanted to put my feet in the sand one last time before I went back to school.

On my way home, I picked up some to-go crab legs at Higgins and sat on the back deck.  The atmosphere was great and so was the company…

All in all, I had a good time alone. I think I may do it again next year.
