Simply Italy: Photos from Venice

The gondolas were "grounded" due to rising water levels. So glad we got our ride in!

It’s cold and rainy in Venice right now but I still couldn’t be more impressed with this city. I’ve never seen anything like it. The water, the bridges, the shopping, the history, the food, all of it is simply unbelievable. After touring the Doge’s Palace I’m now fascinated and awe inspired by Venetian culture and history. St. Mark’s square is breathtaking and the city is just oozing with interesting buildings, shops and people.

Here’s a few shots from our last 2 days.

Mainland Venice was much more industrial than I expected. Reminded me of Baltimore.

The Appennine Mountains are stunning! I would love to climb those mountains! I love all the incredible architecture, the colorful buildings, and the gondolas! Take pictures of the frescos, please! We don't have artists like these in the U.S.A.! Ciao bella! Reply
